The Judicial Screening Committee of the Central New York Women’s Bar Association (CNYWBA) is accepting applications for review and rating by the Committee from judicial candidates within the 5th Judicial District. The deadline for submission of applications is July 16, 2014.
The CNYWBA’s Judicial Screening Committee, co-chaired by CNYWBA Secretary Martin Lynn and CNYWBA Past President Danielle Mikalajunas Fogel, is comprised of members of the CNYWBA with diverse experience and practice areas. The Committee conducted interviews and did extensive reviews of the qualifications of each of the candidates who chose to participate in the screening process.
The rating process considers each candidate’s judicial temperament, legal ability and experience, analytical skills, impartiality and freedom from bias and prejudice, industriousness, diligence and promptness, and general reputation, character, fitness, and attitude towards women’s issues. There are three (3) possible ratings, which are based upon a numerical score that each candidate received as a result of the Committee’s review: (from highest to lowest) Commended, Qualified, and Not Qualified.
CNYWBA will announce the Judicial Screening Committee's ratings at the annual Judicial Reception in October 2015. For further information, contact Committee co-chairs: Martin Lynn or Danielle Mikalajunas Fogel.
